One of the few Airbnbs that I feel changed by. This stunning, one of a kind historic landmark is lovingly maintained by Alice and Paul. It’s located at the very top of a mountain in Samuel P. Taylor State Park. Took a while for us city dwellers to take in both the natural and built environment’s majesty. Wish we could have stayed a week!
This is an amazing house! With stained glass windows, high ceilings, and unique touches, it does feel like a castle, and the views are incredible in every direction. It’s also set up very well for families, and our sons really enjoyed the bunk beds and the variety of toys, books, and puzzles. The waffle maker and waffle mix were a thoughtful addition that made our morning even more special. Due to some rainy weather, we didn’t get to explore too much of the surrounding area, but we would definitely love to come back here. Highly recommend!
It was one of the most beautiful, serene and relaxing experiences to stay here. The castle was amazing. The views were just incredible. The kitchen was well stocked so we were able to cook together and enjoy a lovely meal in the mountains. Our host was super proactive and supportive. We would love to come back here again!
We loved the Castle! Our 3 year old granddaughter wasn’t sure about staying “a castle” but she loved it especially the Bullfrogs in the moat and the banana slug we found up in the yard! Thanks for the pack and play crib and seat for Teddy!

We were able to visit Muir Woods and Tomales Bay We shopped at the Mill Valley Market on our way up and had a great lunch on the dock/deck seating at Nicks Cove in Tomales Bay. This is one of the best experience we had through AirBnB. The place is magical during golden hours, and it’s private, lots of ground for our kid to play around. Great kitchen and equips for a comfortable stay.
A truly magical stay! The castle house cabin felt like stepping into a fairytale peaceful, cozy, and wonderfully quiet, which made it the perfect place to recharge. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and kind, making sure we had everything we needed. We left feeling relaxed and grateful, and would absolutely love to return.
We had a great time in this place. Great view on the top of the mountain, lovely and gorgeous castle style building, clean and comfortable rooms, and all good quality appliance. You will get surprised by many details of the castle, truly an architectural collection!

Gorgeous mountaintop location and an architecturally interesting house with lots of windows. When the fog burns off, you have stunning views. Our family enjoyed our stay here. Happy to find a nice collection of board games.
The Marin Castle is a unique, one of a kind home with fantastic views and great ambiance. It was the quietest soundscape we’ve ever been in, a perfect aerie to escape the bustle of city life and enjoy tranquility in a natural setting. Very romantic for couples, and great playground for kids. We would love to return!

Beautiful place literally above the clouds. The place is clean and in good condition while still having its historical charm. So many cool features in the house that we all enjoyed. Alice was very responsive and gave great recommendations on local places to go. We loved the fresh oysters from Farmstand about 10 minutes from the listing. There are beautiful hikes around too!
The castle is a really cool place. Its 3 levels give a great separation of spaces for a big group like ours. Its views are huge but the interior is just as interesting!!!
We absolutely loved our stay at Alice’s place at the top of Mt Barnabe. We stayed for a chunk of time whist our roof was being replaced and we needed somewhere for us and our pets to stay during this time. What an incredible spot. The views were absolutely breathtaking. The home is so relaxing and peaceful with everything we needed for our longer stay. The beds are really comfortable and we just felt right at home there. Alice was so friendly and accommodating and even helped set up a spot for my husband to be able to work at his computer. She is an amazing host and we would stay here again in a heartbeat.
The Castle is high up in the Point Reyes area. The views are amazing with 360 degree sights. The house is interesting in design but very comfortable. The owners are very responsive and have put updates in the home. Nice deck to have a cup of tea or glass of wine. Hiking trails are nearby and you are within driving distance of the seashore. Wonderful place to get away from it all.

Our group had an unforgettable retreat at Alice’s incredible castle! The place has such magical vibes! Alice’s castle atop the mountain is every bit as beautiful as the pictures, with unmatched panorama view of the mountains. Watching the sunrise from the balcony is a real treat. The place itself is also well kept, spacious and comfortable. It’s also very kid friendly. My kids loved playing the mini golf and swinging on the hammock. Alice is very responsive host and always quick to reply when we had questions. I would heartily recommend this scenic getaway.
